Ryan's 1979 Ford Fairmont XC

For 8 years or so I’ve wanted an XA, XB or XC Ford Falcon coupe.
With prices the way they are and the fact I live in NZ (where these are even more rare than in Australia) this wasn’t going to happen.

In December 08 I found a 1979 Ford Fairmont XC sedan. Which I ended up buying.
This has:
– 302 Cleveland V8
– 3 speed auto, floor shift.
– Holley carb with 6R 1717 B stamped on it. One web site said these are hard to find and can be worth a bit of money. Another said they are nothing special. I dunno.
– Holley rocker covers, hopefully covering some good heads or something.
– Red line intake manifold, with MD8 76DA9425EA stamped on it. Couldn’t find any info on this.

And a heap of rust.

I’ve been posting on a couple of forums showing my progress through this project, some of my friends were interested in the progress, but didn’t want to sign up for a forum account to view, so I setup Wordpress on my site.

Well updates have been slowing down (actually they've stopped for the last 3 years) which means I don't log into this site very often and Wordpress is extremely insecure, so I've been paranoid about hacking for all that time. So I've removed the blog and have left this page and a link to a forum thread where I've recorded all of my work.

You'll need an account, but oh well.
